Team Sports Rules

 

Sand Volleyball

• 2 teams of 4-6 (whatever is agreed upon)

• Rally scoring (every violation is a point) to 21

• 1 toss per serve

• Any part of the body contact with net is a violation, all down balls are violation (considered points)

• Teams change sides in multiples 7 (every 7 points)

  • So each ‘set’ is 7 points- best out of 3 sets advances

• 1 time out allowed per set of 7 points

• May wear socks or sand socks

• Each side gets 3 contacts with the ball (including blocks)

• Ball be fully over the line to be considered out

Flag Football

1. Teams

   1. 2 teams- 6 players each (modify if we need more/less people)

       Captains- home team flips for one of the following:

      1. Kick off

      2. Receive

      3. Choose which side to defend

• Punting: no kicks. The opposing team takes possession on its own 5 yd mark

• Fumbles: are dead when they hit the ground

Scoring

Touchdown – 6 pts

Extra Points

• Ball is placed at 5 yard line, if run or passed in, 1 pt.

• Ball on 10 yd line, run or passed in 2 pts.

Safety

a return by the defense to the opposing teams end zone equals 2 points for the defense – 2pts
